This tour showcases the best of Delhi and Amritsar. It’s the most sought after tour of the north. Delhi has been home to Hindu Rajput Kings, followed by the Sultans who ruled Delhi and finally the Mughals and eventually the British. Delhi is the melting pot of cultures and religions. We have designed a tour taking you through the rich heritage and history of Delhi. In the second half of the tour you see Amritsar which was founded by the 4th Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das. It was under the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh who fortified the city. It had twelve gates. Punjab was annexed by the British in 1849 and built a 13th gate. Amritsar is famously known for the Golden Temple, it is the holiest shrine for the Sikhs and Sikh pilgrims from all over the world and people from various faiths travel to the temple as it’s a scared place of pilgrimage. Day 1. This day you will be seeing the major sights in Delhi like visiting Jama Masjid, Rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, drive past Red Fort, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Government buildings, visit Humayun’s Tomb and finally end the tour at Qutub Minar Day 2. This morning you will be travelling to Amritsar by a super fast train approximately 6.5 hrs and will be met upon your arrival in Amritsar and taken to your hotel for check-in. Early evening you will be doing a heritage walk of Amritsar old city followed by a visit to the most sacred temple of the Sikhs the Golden Temple. Day 3. After a leisurely breakfast you will be taken to visit the Partition Museum and Jallianwala Bagh. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon you will visit the Wagah border ceremony which is a border between India and Pakistan. The flag ceremony is conducted by the Pakistan Rangers and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) The border is located 24kms from Lahore and 32 kms from Amritsar Day 4. Early morning you board your train for Delhi, duration approximately 6 hrs and upon reaching Delhi check-in to your hotel. Post lunch you will be taken to visit some of the hidden gems of Delhi.
